Prof. Dr. Gul Irepoğlu Gul Irepoğlu is an Architect and Art Historian specialising in Ottoman and European arts, the interaction between occidental and oriental arts and the history of jewellery, and an accomplished novelist, her bestsellers repeating the success in several languages. After 26 years of lecturing at the Istanbul University Department of History of Art, she further contributed to culture and the arts by producing and presenting weekly TV shows, heading the TAC Turkish Monuments and the Environment Protection Fund and, since 2006, as a member of the UNESCO Turkish National Committee and the chairperson of the Tangible Cultural Heritage Committee.
